Wow, wow this is a dream come true! My favorite childhood TV show from the 80’s is coming to the big screen in all 4K glory! Will the movie do the original series justice? Thats actually a low bar it has to go over but looking at the state of Hollywood now days I wouldn’t be surprised either if they totally screwed it up! Look at Starsky and Hutch and the recent GI Joe movie both colossal wastes of time. But I think this movie has a chance and will be back for the new de-facto Hollywood standard three-quel. Why do I think this? First there is a huge following of A-Team fans and if you arent then well you are a closet fan and just not telling anyone. So Hollywood would be stupid to mess this thing up. Second Mr. T is a real life person, Hollywood does not want to piss that guy off! Even though he is not in the movie his reputation is still on the line and everyone knows it! Third quality actors such as Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Sharlto Copley and more!
Check out the new extended A-Team the Movie trailer! Looks rockin!
To see or not to see is the question. After a 12 year hiatus James Cameron’s newest release Avatar hit the theaters Friday to solid reviews. Yahoo Movies Critics are giving it an A- and the user reviews are giving it an A- too. Although many recent user reviews are not so friendly, giving it a D or F. One reviewer called it “Avaturd” and is quoted saying, “This movie was so disappointing. Over hyped James Cameron couldn’t have been lazier or more cliched. Tell me about the rabbits, James…. Piece of Avaturd.” I am not sure about the rabbits but maybe thats because I have not seen the movie yet. Many other user reviews are criticizing the plot calling it “cowboys and indians”, and do not like the theme of the movie feeling it has a political undertone such as portraying humans as the evil white man stealing land from the indigenous people of Pandora. From the previews I could already tell that was the case so I am not sure why so many viewers were surprised. Anyway this is a big Hollywood movie, what should you expect? One thing the haters could agree with is the special effects. So far everyone likes the spectacular new 3D technology that provides the viewer to feel fully immersed in the world of Pandora. James Cameron spent much time co-developing a new generation of stereoscopic cameras. This allows the user to watch the movie with a pair of polarized 3D glasses. Unlike the old-school 3D glasses you could find in Captain Crunch cereal with the red and blue lenses these new lenses are polarized differently for each eye. This removes a different part of the image as it enters each eye which makes the image appear in 3D. James Cameron also created a virtual camera to enter the world as if he was playing a first person shooter such as Halo 3. This allowed him the flexibility to enter the 3D world of Pandora and create a fully cinematic experience. So far as of this writing the movie has already grossed over $73M. Not bad I think I will check it out on Christmas Day unless I get pulled into Sherlock Holmes instead. If you have already seen Avatar, let us know what you thought! And if for some unknown reason you have not seen the trailer, here it is!
I just returned from watching The Fourth Kind starring Milla Jovovich. I actually enjoyed the film but after rushing home to do a few queries on Google, I became disappointed by Hollywood claiming another movie is based on actual events. This claim is what had drawn me into the theater in the first place. As it turns out this movie is no different than “The Strangers” which was also based on “actual events”. The big question, who is Dr Abigail Tyler from Nome Alaska? After searching around online I discovered a post on the IMDB claiming the Dr. Abigail Tyler we see in the archived video footage is actually actress Aurélie Bancilhon. See this clip from YouTube of Aurélie and decide for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhV17s947lM&feature=related

I just recently rewatched the 2004 remake of George Romero’s classic Dawn of the Dead. It is definately a movie to see again even if it’s on your computer screen. It is currently playing free at Hulu. Let’s hope they do just as good of job on the sequel.
